BIO: In 1999 when domain names were a $70 registration fee each I thought that it would be a good idea to buy a few domain names. After great consideration I decided that the two guaranteed things that would always be around were death and taxes. I was not so fond of death so I went the taxes and the government route. The first few domain names that I acquired were local government domains that I felt would be related to services which were in high demand for longer than I would be around. So I purchased a few domains like: BoardOfCommissioners.com, TaxAssessors.com, TaxCommissioner.com, PlanningDepartment.com, ZoningRegulations.com and HealthDepartments.com. I have since expanded that area with several other local government domains. Some of the most interesting investments that I have made are: Atlanta.biz, MyCompany.info and Entrepreneursville.com When it comes to making a purchases today the game has changed due to the tools which are now available. I still buy generic domains but pay close attention to the Monthly Search Volume. If I can be known for a single quote let it be "It is much easier to fish in a catfish pond than the ocean..." when it comes to domain names. So, don't try to sell me a name that no one is searching for with a huge price tag because the name sounds great.
